Poland is the ninth largest country in Europe, and its inhabitants account for about 5.22 percent of Europe's population. Poland's population density is about 319 persons per square mile. Poland's topography consists mainly of lowlands, glacial valleys, and rolling hills. The Baltic Sea lies to the north, while the Sudeten Range and the Carpathian Mountains lie along Poland's southern border with the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
